Carvings

Every monument, like those they are designed for, is unique. When looking at carvings on monuments, you will find that there are many different styles. These styles will give different dimension, effect and finish to the carving, depending on the design chosen.

Shape Carving

Shape carving refers to a three-dimensional appearance where the outline of a design is sandblasted and the interior is shaped.  This enhanced carving creates depth and contours within the design and is often used for roses, flowers and leaves. A shape carving may also be used for praying hands and the rosary.

Flat Carving

Flat carvings are achieved by sandblasting the outline of a design while the design itself is left flat. The surface of the carving is left flat with a sandblasted finish, which stands out from the surrounding polished granite.
