FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are other names for monuments?

You may see a monument referred to as a memorial, marker, headstone, gravestone, grave marker, or flat stone, just to name a few. There are many different types of monuments and markers, and we can assist you in designing the right one for you.

What size monument do I need?

Each cemetery has rules and regulations that you will need to follow. These regulations will help you determine monument size, style, color, and any specifics you will need to follow. Within any regulations, we will help you to design and choose a monument that you and your family will cherish for years to come.

What are the cemetery’s rules and regulations?

Contacting the specific cemetery where your monument will be is the only way to determine their rules and regulations. We will assist you in making this contact and make sure that any monument designed is within these specifications.

How long will it take for the monument to be completed?

Typically, it will take anywhere from 4-6 weeks after an approved sketch has been received for a monument to be completed and ready to be shipped. If the monument has unique, custom designs, it may take longer depending on the complexity and availability of the granite.

Can I design my own monument?

Yes, you can design your own monument. We encourage you to work within our interactive Ideabook to get a feel for what you would like. If you’d like to add more personalization to your design, we recommend making an appointment with us. We can be reached at 518-399-5022 or by email at ValiantMonumentDesign@gmail.com.

What are the costs included in the monument?

When you design a monument with us, we will give you a quote for all things necessary for the creation and setting of your monument. This includes the monument itself, shipping and setting in the cemetery, as well as the foundation needed for the monument. These costs will be presented to you in full before taking your monument to production.

What happens if the monument is damaged via shipping?

We use professional carriers to ship our monuments and follow closely the shipping process. It would be extremely rare for a monument to be damaged in shipping, but if this were to happen you are fully protected as we guarantee our work.

Where can I ship the monument?

Your monument can be shipped anywhere in the continental United States.

What are some of the granite colors available?

Granite is a natural material and can be found in many colors. The most widely used color is Medium Barre Grey, but there are also options such as India Black, India Red, and Bahama Blue, just to name a few. We will help you to decide which color best fits your vision.
